Puppy Accidents|The Clean up

I remember the first time I brought my tiny Yorkshire puppies home like it was yesterday. First thing they did when I put them on my carpet was pee all over. At the time, I had no carpet cleaners and I didn’t know what to do… I ended up using… oh the thought brings back painful memories. I used paper towels.

Two years later and I discover that Arthur, my lovely male, likes to mark every corner of our house. He is neutered but that is not stopping him (he was neutered at 6 months of age).

In general, smaller breeds have small bladders and tend to have more accidents.

I made this post to share what I, personally use to clean my carpets

Long story short, Bissell has all my money

Here’s a list of what I am currently using depending on the “mess” size

*Click the name of the product to be linked to its amazon page*

  1. Bissell Little Green

  • Price: $89.00 on Amazon
  • Portable with cord
  • Light weight
  • Must be cleaned frequently otherwise it will be a nightmare to clean
  • Over all, saved my life at the beginning of potty training

2. Bissell Pet Stain Eraser

  • Price: $75.00 on Amazon
  • Cordless
  • Super light
  • Easy to clean
  • Good for smaller messes
  • Much easier to handle than the one above, but it gets full fast

3. Bissell Proheat Essential Carpet Cleaner

After a while of doing spot cleaning, I noticed lighter carpet and darker in places that I haven’t cleaned. So I got a carpet shampooer that I use few times a year. This one is heavy duty. The alternative is to rent a carpet shampooer from a store in your area.

  • Price: $137.24 on Amazon
  • Large and heavy
  • Has a warming functionality to keep cleaning water warm
  • Easy to use
  • Too heavy for me to use often but I still use it when needed

Hope this helped!

The cleaning formula that I use changes but I have used most scents until I get tired of them and change them up.

Pet Stain & Odor formula is one that I am currently using
